Year-Round Boarding School for Girls Who are Struggling With Poor Academics, Bad Behavior, or Life-Controlling Issues
Your girl’s misbehavior, loss of interest in positive endeavors, or outbursts of anger are likely a cry for help. If your girl’s future or life is threatened, an immersive live-in therapeutic program and school for your child, like Columbus Girls Academy, can help. Here she can get help without distractions and be held accountable for milestones.
At CGA, your girl will get a much-needed break from social media, bad influences, and dangerous substances. She will live in an environment focused on initiating a desire for a change in attitude. She will receive the tools, guidance, and encouragement to transform her negative beliefs, implement healthy relational patterns and discover new positive pursuits. Moreover, she will practice them in various contexts over time so they become a new lifestyle, before she moves on.
Columbus Girls Academy is a non-profit Christian boarding school for teenage girls ages 12-17 who are struggling. We are located in Alabama, just a few miles west of Columbus, Georgia, or about 100 miles from Atlanta. We offer a safe, disciplined, structured environment that emphasizes character development, spiritual growth, and personal responsibility. Our year-round program for girls is designed to develop the whole person spiritually, socially, academically, and physically.
For nearly 60 years, the Christian boarding school just for difficult girls has helped hundreds of girls get back on the right track and learn that they have a higher purpose and calling on this Earth. We surround our students all day long with an environment designed to help facilitate life change through our staff witness and guidance.
Students in the boarding school are challenged daily in their relationships and respect for others as they interact with others. It is an environment that balances discipline with personal responsibility to create a positive peer culture. Our goal is to help students make positive decisions, not based on mandatory compliance but rather on a genuine change of heart. Community service, special projects, outings, and mission trips also help our students change their focus from self to serving others.
Our curriculum is accredited through Cognia, the parent organization of North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA). In addition, it is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). These organizations ensure that CGA provides the academic standards required to transfer back to the girl’s local school or enter colleges and universities.
The 200-acre all-girl boarding school is a special place where students and families experience peace and tranquility as they work through the process of changing their motivations and attitudes in life while also restoring relationships. The gorgeous property includes an expansive conference center with overnight parents’ accommodation, hiking trails, volleyball, basketball courts, an exercise and recreation room, a softball field, and a huge swimming pool.
