Columbus Girls Academy strives to mature the whole person in four main areas: spiritual, social, academic, and physical. The program is ordered and disciplined so that girls feel safe and cared for during their enrollment.
Therapy takes the form of both individual and group counseling. Each student receives a dedicated counselor who also functions as the point of contact for the family. A Bible-based therapeutic curriculum takes the first hour of each school day. Adapted for each girl’s behavior, the curriculum promotes introspection and study of personal problem areas through tools such as scripture memorization, character quality studies, and more.
CGA strives to cultivate a positive peer culture on the campus. Each student is trained to be responsible for her own choices and to keep others accountable for theirs, and to change her focus from self to serving others. We seek positive decisions not out of mandatory compliance but from genuine self-motivation. Each new student is partnered with a senior student, who teaches her the ropes at the academy. In this way, each girl has the support not only of staff and teachers but also of a friend.
